A recent study found that the average Canadian walks about 1500 km a year. Another study found that Canadians drink, on average, 85 Liters of alcohol a year. That means that, on average, Canadians get about 17.5 km/Litre...
lets see how the rest of the World fares>?
fire away Oppo - walking distance over alcohol drank
The study tracked the steps of 1,136 adults around the United States who wore pedometers for two days in 2003. The results were compared to similar pedometer studies in Switzerland, Australia and Japan. The data collected showed that Americans, on average, took 5,117 steps a day, far short of the averages in western Australia (9,695 steps), Switzerland (9,650 steps) and Japan (7,168 steps). (one mile is 2000 steps avge)
Us = 2.6miles a day tops
Oz = 4.8miles a day
Swiss = same as Oz
Japan = 3.5miles per day
now all you need is how much booze you all drink daily/yearly.
The report shows that Americans aren't anywhere the close to the top of the list in terms of alcohol consumption, they still drink their fair share, at an average of 9.2 liters of alcohol per person per year. (Beer accounts for half of this alcohol, with spirits account for one third, and wine one sixth.)
9.2 liters might not sound like a lot for an entire year, but first we have to remember that only two thirds of the American population consumes alcohol, which means that those who do actually consume 13.8 liters of alcohol each year. This equates to 467 ounces of pure alcohol, and we know that one serving is 0.6oz of pure alcohol.
That's right, according to the World Health Organization, the average alcohol-consuming American drinks 778 servings of alcohol each year. That's an average of over two servings per day, and fifteen servings each week. That number represents a 255% increase relative to what Americans themselves reported in the Gallup poll.

85 liters of alcohol or alcoholic beverages? One of these is an obscene amount.

Hmmmm......well let's see here, I walk on my bar nights an average of 2.8 miles according to google maps. This averages between 1 and 3 places for beers. I drink between 40 and 60 oz of beer. So we'll average to 50 oz (2.5 beers) and this gives me an overall mileage of 7.17 miles per gallon. Converting that to km/L gives me a tick under 17km/L.
